This SOM can connect you to other YWAM teams throughout the world or can offer you a field internship at locations in Central Asia and East Asia. A field internship has a field mentor, a stateside internship coordinator and an informal field assignment focused around five training objectives. This SOM focuses on unreached people groups among Muslims, Chinese, or Buddhists. Church planting is also taught in this school.

Particular attention will be given to intercultural relationships and building bridges of reconciliation. Since learning language is a key to relationship, an important place is given to language acquisition skills. What is Unique About this School? Prepare to have your world view rocked as we integrate into pockets of culture that include members of unreached people groups (UPG's) from the 10/40 window. They live right here but still do not know the truth about Jesus Christ. We will spend time in Chinatown, Indo-Pakistani grocery stores, Bengali neighborhoods in Queens, Jewish and Arab communities in Brooklyn, and a myriad of other communities within New York City! Each week we will be going to one of these places to integrate the love of Jesus Christ into immigrant communities.
